  • Mechanics | Capture-Systems

The Mechanics Behind Capture Products The gimbal core structure is the structure that makes up the body of the gimbal system. All of our products are made of aluminium and stainless steel, that undergo thermal treatments in order to withstand all environmental conditions including those prevalent in the sea, air and land. Our aluminium envelope gives the gimbal a tremendous advantage; the processed parts contain an aluminium casting so a 'cage' was actually created to prevent emission or absorption of EMI and RFI electrical noises. All of our gimbals enable internal wire routing using a slip ring. The advantage is that you can rotate the axis, without limitation, as many turns as you want. For customers who use RF communications we know how to provide an integrated solution of special rings for RF signals (Rotary-Joint). Through this integration of Slipring / Rotary-Joint in the system we disable the motion limits on the system. In order to get the highest position accuracy that the system can provide we need to consider a few aspects: Mechanics Mechanical design is the first stage in the process of achieving precision; Through proper design we have created a robust system with low self-elasticity (which cannot be corrected by the motion controllers). In that sense, we can modify any system to achieve maximum motion precision, high speeds, torque and stabilization - in one compact unit. Sensors To obtain the system accuracy, it is advisable to install an encoder on the load axis. The higher the encoder resolution is, the easier it is (for the motion controller) to fix small position and speed errors. Load Installation It is important to install the load center of mass (rather than its center of mechanical dimensions) as close as possible to the gimbal axes meeting point. In this way a continuous movement will be obtained and this helps maintain precise movement. BACK TO PROJECTS
